Custom Home Builder in Chattanooga, Built Around Your Family
A custom home should feel like it was always meant for the people living in it. That’s what EPG Homes builds. Not a plan pulled off a shelf, but a home designed around how your family actually lives, on a lot you love, by a builder who’s on your job site every week.
EPG Homes, LLC is a family owned custom home builder in Chattanooga, TN. Evan Greene is a fourth generation builder who grew up on job sites and built his first home at 17. Since 2013, EPG has finished more than 300 projects around Chattanooga, and new custom homes are the heart of what the company does.

Work Directly with the Owner
With EPG, you’re not handed off to a sales team. You work one on one with Evan from the first meeting to the final walkthrough, and a project manager runs your build day to day and is your go to person whenever questions come up. A small office team, including EPG’s own cleaning crew, keeps the paperwork moving and every home clean and ready.

“We’ve known Evan for years, and what we love most about EPG Homes is that they genuinely care about you, your family, and the home you’re creating. You never feel like just another client.”

On Your Lot, or Help Finding One
Most of what EPG builds is a new custom home on the client’s own lot. If you don’t have land yet, the team can look at a lot with you before you buy and tell you what it will take to build there, from slope and drainage to utilities and driveway access.
EPG also has building lots of its own, including lots in Hummingbird Village that are ready to build. And for buyers who would rather not wait on a full build, EPG has new homes for sale too.
EPG builds across Chattanooga and Hamilton County, from historic St. Elmo, North Chattanooga and Riverview to Signal Mountain, Missionary Ridge, Red Bank, Hixson, Ooltewah, East Brainerd and East Ridge, plus select estate homes in Bradley, Marion and Sequatchie Counties. EPG has also built custom infill homes downtown.
Custom Homes with an ADU
EPG has built several custom homes with an ADU, or accessory dwelling unit, a separate living space on the same lot. Some owners want one for multigenerational living, so parents or grown kids can stay close and still have a place of their own. Others plan it as a short term rental that can bring in extra income. Every lot and zone has its own rules, so before design starts, EPG helps check what the lot and the zoning allow. That way the plan fits the property from the start. Call or text 423-646-7540 to talk through an ADU on your lot.
Designed with a Designer’s Eye
Many EPG homes are designed with Evan’s wife Haley, a graduate of the interior design program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, so the layout and finishes get a designer’s eye from day one. Haley can’t design them all, so EPG also works with several trusted interior designers and architecture firms around Chattanooga. Already have an architect or designer you love? The team is happy to build from their plans.

A Clear Price Before You Break Ground
You get a clear, detailed price before construction starts. Most EPG custom homes land between $350K and $850K+, depending on size, lot and finishes. Long relationships with trusted subs and suppliers give EPG real buying power, which helps keep quality high and the budget honest.
How EPG Prices a Custom Home
EPG builds custom homes on a cost plus fixed fee model. The fee is set up front based on the plans and scope of the home, and it doesn’t move when you pick finishes. If you choose a higher end stone, a bigger lighting package or a better window line, you pay the actual cost of that upgrade and EPG doesn’t make a dollar more.
With cost plus a percentage, every upgrade raises the builder’s pay.
That’s different from the usual cost plus percentage model, where the builder earns 15 or 20 percent of everything that goes into the house. With a fixed fee, nobody has a reason to push the client toward the more expensive option, so EPG’s advice is just advice based on its understanding of the client’s needs and goals.
You also see every invoice and receipt through EPG’s online client portal as the build goes. No marked up allowances and no guessing where the money went. EPG and the homeowner work as one team toward the same goal: the right house at a fair cost.

The warranty transfers to the next owner if the home is sold during those 10 years.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to own a lot before I call?
No. Many clients start without land. EPG can look at a lot with you before you buy and tell you what it will take to build there, and EPG also has lots of its own that are ready to build.
Can EPG build a custom home with an ADU?
Yes. EPG has built several custom homes with ADUs, for multigenerational living and for owners who want short term rental income. Before design starts, EPG helps check what the lot and the zoning allow.
What is a cost plus fixed fee contract?
You pay the actual cost of building your home, plus one fixed fee to EPG that’s set up front from the plans and scope. You see every invoice and receipt through EPG’s online client portal, so you always know where the money is going.
Does EPG make more money when I choose upgrades?
No. Switching from carpet to hardwood or from granite to marble during selections doesn’t raise EPG’s fee. You pay the actual cost of the upgrade and nothing more, so there’s no reason for anyone to steer you toward the pricier pick.
What if I add something to the plan during the build?
Bigger changes in scope, like adding a bonus room or a detached garage, are priced as a change order with their own fixed fee. You see and approve that price before the work starts.
Why does EPG finish the design before construction starts?
A lot of builders start building and think about the design later, and by then the details get decided too late. EPG works out the plan, layout and details up front, down to where the kitchen outlets go, so the finished home is one the owner is proud of.
How long does it take to build a custom home?
Most EPG custom builds take about 6 to 9 months once construction is underway. Larger or more detailed homes can take longer, and the lot, the plan and permitting all affect timing.
